MATERIAL DE APOIO: VERB THERE TO BE (RESUMO)
THERE IS - é usado no singular. Significa: há ou existe.
Ex: There is a book on the table.
Tem um livro em cima da mesa.
THERE ARE – é usado no plural. Significa: há ou existem.
Ex: There are many flowers in the garden.
FORMAS NEGATIVA E INTERROGATIVA
Para passarmos uma frase afirmativa, com verbo there to be, para a forma negativa, precisamos acrescentar NOT depois do verbo to be.
EX: There is one pencil in my bag. (AFIRMATIVA)
There is not / isn't one pencil in my bag. (NEGATIVA)
Já para transformarmos as frases afirmativas em interrogativas, precismos levar o verbo to be para o início da frase e no final dela colocarmos o ponto de interrogação ( ? )
EX: There are ten teachers in my school. (AFIRMATIVA)
Are there ten teachers in my school? INTERROGATIVA)
